CORETEX, a new generation optimization engine developed by Optima Optimisation is the heart of Optime.
CORETEX implicitly considers all possible schedule combinations which can solve your scheduling problem. It provides the best possible solution for the time period being evaluated and is able to demonstrate the optimality of the chosen solution.
The mathematical equations which describe your scheduling problem are generated automatically based on scheduling constraints and objectives which are entered by means of a graphic interface.
CORETEX uses a variety of optimization techniques in order to produce rapidly a series of progressively better solutions. Solution improvement continues until optimality has been reached, until man-hour targets have been achieved or until a specified percentage of a theoretical optimal solution has been attained.
CORETEX combines both the potential for rapid solutions offered by heuristics and the quality of result that can only be guaranteed by mathematical optimization. Several existing approaches are available which propose a choice of rules generators or which employ heuristics that do not model all aspects of your operation. These approaches often produce results which can not be realistically applied in your context.
We normally see a difference of 1% to 10% between a schedule developed by Optime™ and a manually prepared schedule; based on cost, demand coverage and employee satisfaction.
