Jean-François Gagné, CEO, Associate

Jean-François Gagné was named President of Omega Optimization in june 2007. From 2002-2007 he was a Product Manager for Omega Optimization and managed a number of implementation projects for companies having as many as 1500 employees. He also initiated and directed a number of in-house R&D projects.

Alexandre Le Bouthillier, Vice-President Information Systems, Associate, Co-Founder

Alexandre Le Bouthillier is one of the founders of Omega Optimization Inc. He holds a PhD in Operations Research from the University of Montreal and completed a post doctorate program at the University of Geneva. He has received scholarships and other academic awards from government research funding agencies, corporations and professional associations. His research interests include parallel processing, grid computing, virtualization, operations research and software engineering. Over the past 15 years he has founded and directed three companies in Canada and in Europe specialized in virtual server and storage technology high performance computing and video surveillance.

Louis-Martin Rousseau, Vice-President, Scientific Activities, Associate, Co-Founder

Louis-Martin Rousseau holds a PhD in Operations Research (Optimization) from the University of Montreal. He has completed a post doctorate program at the University of Bologne. He has received numerous scholarships and other academic awards. He has presented a large number of scientific papers at international conferences and authored numerous articles published in specialized technical journals. He is Scientific director for the Optime.Net development project.

Michel Jarry, Strategic Advisor

Michel Jarry is Strategic Advisor for Omega Optimization. He is member of the Board of Directors of CRIM. He was President of AVeL-TECH, a company which he founded and directed for 12 years.

AVeL-TECH developed a complete suite of programs for the management of public security personnel during emergencies. These systems are used by police and ambulance services around the world and require the highest level of reliability. CRIM was a major contributor in the area of reliability through its software testing centre and as a facilitator during system commissioning leading up to the implementation of systems in numerous agencies devoted to public safety and security.

Bernard Gendron, PhD

Bernard Gendron is a full professor in the Department of Computer Science and Operations Research at the University of Montreal and Director of the Inter-university Research Centre for Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT). This internationally renowned interdisciplinary research centre is dedicated to the training of highly qualified specialists and to the development of tools and techniques for solving complex problems related to the design, management, operation and security of logistical, enterprise and transportation networks. The Centre’s staff includes 60 researchers, 30 collaborators, 50 technical and administrative specialists, as well as 400 graduate and post-doctoral students.

Bernard Gendron’s interests include combinatorial integer optimization, large scale problems and parallel processing as well as manpower scheduling and the design of logistical and transportation networks.

He is editor-in-chief of INFOR, the journal of the Canadian Operations Research Society. He has been a visiting professor at the following universities : MIT, EPFL, Pise, Versailles and Valenciennes. He worked for ILOG in Paris in 2003 during a sabbatical year. He has been President of the Canadian Operations Research Society (CORS) (2004-2005) and was President of the Montreal Section of CORS from 2000-2007. He also served as President of the Section on Transportation Science and Logistics of INFORMS during 2002 and 2003. He was the recipient of CORS awards for service and achievement in 2004 and 2006.

Jean-Marc Rousseau, PhD

Jean-Marc Rousseau holds a PhD in Operations Research from M.I.T. From 1973 to 1992, he was a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Operations Research (DIRO) at the University of Montreal. In 1979, he became Director of the Center for Research on Transportation (now CIRRELT). In 1979, he also co-founded GIRO, a company specializing in computer software and related consulting services for transportation applications, notably in the area of public transit scheduling and the routing of pick-up and delivery operations. GIRO computer software is now used by more than 200 organizations in 25 different countries. He has received many prestigious awards including the J. Armand Bombardier Prize and the Merit Award from the Canadian Operation Research Society. Jean-Marc Rousseau joined CIRANO as a Senior Vice-President in September, 2001 and was President and Chief Executive Officer from December, 2002 until 2005. Since 2005, he has been president of the RCM2 Network for Computation and Mathematical Modeling.
